Bio
Matthew took on the position of Chief Operating Officer at Ofsted in April 2014 and additionally serves as the chair of the Operations Executive Board. His directorate is tasked with overseeing various key aspects of Ofsted, including data and information management, challenge and analysis, the annual report and surveys, communications, project planning and performance, financial operations, commercial activities, corporate governance and support, as well as human resources.
Matthew initially joined Ofsted in April 2007 as an assistant divisional manager, following a 10-month stint as the lead officer for workforce and organisational structure in the 'Creating New Ofsted' programme. He subsequently rose through the ranks Before his extensive career at Ofsted, Matthew had experience in teaching vocational education and skills to both young people and adults. He was also responsible for managing quality assurance in the post-16 education sector, particularly focusing on vocational and employment skills training.
