Bio
Steve holds the pioneering role of Global Vice Chair for Sustainability at EY, steering the firm's global climate and sustainability initiatives. He manages EY's ambitious journey towards net-zero carbon emissions and leads the sustainability strategy for the $45 billion organisation with over 350,000 staff. Since 2021, EY has achieved carbon-negative status under his leadership.
As a founding co-chair of the S30 group, Steve collaborates with chief sustainability officers from global companies. The group is affiliated with the Sustainable Markets Initiative, endorsed by His Majesty King Charles III. Previously, Steve was the Regional Managing Partner and Chair for EY's UK and Ireland operations from 2011 to 2020. He doubled the business's revenue to $3.5 billion and added 8,000 jobs in the UK, most of which are outside London.
Politically, Steve has advised former UK Prime Ministers David Cameron and Theresa May and has been a Business Ambassador for the UK. He is also a board member at Loughborough University and engaged in several other advisory roles. A passionate athlete, Steve has represented Great Britain in triathlons. He lives in the UK with his wife, Jane, and their two children. With over 30 years of business leadership experience, Steve is committed to sustainability, diversity, and entrepreneurship.
